  • Clay Jones

    A. Clay Jones, P.L.S.

    Director of Land Surveying, President

    As director of surveying at Site Design, Inc., Clay Jones oversees a team of experienced land surveyors. He serves as the liaison between client and project team members and is responsible for project budgets, scheduling and meeting project deadlines.

    With more than 22 years of land surveying experience, Clay’s knowledge is wide-ranging and technically deep. He is not only a registered professional land surveyor, but also a licensed realtor, a member of the National Association of Realtors and holds a business degree. In 2014, he completed a four-year term on the City of Greer Planning Commission, a seven-member body that reviews and makes recommendations on land use.

    Named director of surveying for Site Design in 2013, Clay brings hands-on experience to his current position, having served as a project manager, construction staking manager and party chief. He joined Site Design in 2004 as an instrument man.

    Prior to joining Site Design, Clay got his start in 1999 with another land surveying firm. Working part-time while obtaining his business degree, he fell in love with the profession and joined the company full-time in 2002.

  • Craig Winnall

    Craig Winnall, P.E.

    Director of Civil Engineering

    As a senior civil engineer with more than 27 years of experience, Craig Winnall leads the infrastructure design for major projects including apartment complexes, shopping centers and large industrial projects at Site Design, Inc. With a diverse background in infrastructure design, geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing, Craig can handle the most complex and challenging design projects.

    Craig is a true technical specialist. Some of his favorite site plans have been multi-family projects, such as Augusta Heights – a $7.7 million, 37-unit apartment community designed to blend into historic Augusta Road area of Greenville, SC. Another much-loved project was the $26.1 million, 242-unit Tapestry at Hollingsworth Park in Greenville. Adjacent to Legacy Park, the apartments offer contemporary amenities, such as a saltwater pool, outdoor kitchen, premier fitness studio and a Doggie Social Center.

    Before joining Site Design in 2007, Craig was a project engineer with another Greenville where his specialty was in big-box retail centers and quick service restaurants. Before that, he performed field inspections as a geotechnical engineer from 1997 to 2000.

    Craig earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Central Florida.

  • Paul Mills

    Paul Mills, P.E.

    Senior Project Manager

    With more than 27 years of civil engineering design and construction management experience, Paul Mills extends his expertise to specialty practice areas including park planning, streetscapes, storm water management, and roadway design.

    As part of his responsibilities, Paul designs and manages the preparation of construction documents for commercial and public projects. As a registered professional engineer in both South Carolina and North Carolina, Paul works closely with his clients to ensure projects proceed efficiently through the site development process.

    Prior to joining Site Design, Paul was the Regional Manager for another firm in Greenville from 1999-2016. He was also an estimator and project manager for a heavy highway contractor in Spartanburg, SC from 1995 to 1999.

    Paul earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from UNC-Charlotte.

  • Norman Hamilton

    Norman Hamilton, P.E., P.L.S

    Senior Civil Engineer

    A seasoned land consultant and results-oriented civil engineer, Norman Hamilton prepares complete civil engineering site plans for a variety of assignments at Site Design, Inc. As a registered professional engineer and professional land surveyor in South Carolina, his specialty is in site infrastructure, grading, roadway design and storm water management.

    Norman has more than 37 years experience in civil engineering and land surveying. Since joining Site Design in 1997, he has completed designs for a number of roadway projects, commercial development and residential subdivisions. Stormwater management and drainage design are areas of particular expertise.

    One such project was the Charter Communications Southeast Regional Headquarters at Centerpointe Business Park in Mauldin, SC. Norman led a team to develop an underground storm water retention system for the project, meeting not only the client’s architectural needs but ensuring compliance with all SCDHEC environmental regulations.

    Prior to joining Site Design, Norman was a civil engineer and land surveyor for another engineering firm in Greenville.

    Norman holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Clemson University.

  • West Bolin

    Wesley T. Bolin, P.E.

    Project Manager

    With more than 17 years of design, technical and management experience, Wes Bolin manages complex commercial and residential sites, roadway designs, wastewater collection systems and storm water quality control projects at Site Design, Inc. Wes is a registered professional engineer in South Carolina and Alabama; additional areas of expertise include railroad alignment and government buildings.

    Wes is able to leverage his experience by taking on some of the most challenging, multi-layered assignments. Among them was Cascades at Verdae, a 40-acre, $80 million master-planned retirement community in Greenville, SC. The continuing care project included single family residences, apartments, assisted living and skilled nursing care with vast green space and outdoor activities for the residents.

    Wes rejoined Site Design in 2012 after he and his wife decided to move back to Greenville, SC after living in Alabama for four years. Earlier, Wes was a civil engineer with Site Design from 2003 to 2008. Before that, he was an assistant county engineer for Macon County, Ala., specializing in roads and bridges.

    Wes earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Auburn University.

  • Stephanie Gates

    Stephanie J. Gates, P.E.

    Project Manager

    As a Project Engineer for the Engineering Department at Site Design, Inc., Stephanie Gates is responsible for all aspects of site planning and design work, as well as roadway design, domestic water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage and erosion control design. With over 18 years of experience in civil engineering and site planning Stephanie is focused on the development of master plans, drainage studies and stormwater management plans.

    Stephanie joined Site Design in 2006 as a staff engineer where she honed her skills in site planning, layout, grading and drainage. Now as project engineer, she takes the lead on many dynamic public and private land development projects.

    Among them, she served as the Project Engineer of the $115 million main terminal renovation at Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport. She is also proud of her civil design work for the $30 million, seven-story Aloft Hotel and city parking garage in downtown Greenville, SC.

    Stephanie received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Clemson University.

  • Jessica Chapman

    Jessica Chapman, P.E., C.F.M.

    Senior Project Manager

    As a senior civil engineer with more than 21 years of experience, Jessica Chapman is responsible for all aspects of site planning and design work. Her expertise include sanitary sewer rehabilitation and collection, stormwater drainage, potable water distribution and soil erosion and sediment control design for infill projects less than an acre in size to master planned communities as large as 735 acres. She is a registered professional engineer in South Carolina and Florida, and a certified floodplain manager.

    Prior to joining Site Design, Jessica worked for the City of Greenville for almost nine years as a senior civil engineer and the assistant city engineer over the Environmental Engineering Division. This experience gives Jessica the ability to better understand the regulations which government entities are implementing and the ability to smoothly navigate the permitting process. Earlier, she was a project manager for a local firm for one year and project engineer for five years for a firm in Naples, Florida, with a focus on master planned communities, downtown infill and not-for-profit projects.

    Jessica earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Central Florida.

  • Ethan Olliff

    Ethan Olliff, P.E.

    Project Manager

    Ethan has more than 8 years of experience in the civil engineering field. At Site Design, he is responsible for the design development and permitting of projects. With a diverse background in commercial projects, Ethan’s primary focus at Site Design is commercial, multi-family, and mixed-use development.

    Since joining Site Design, Ethan has worked on a variety of projects including The Kennedy Apartments in Downtown Spartanburg, Self-Storage Facilities in Greenwood, and the Bridgeway Station Multi-Use Development project in Mauldin.

    Prior to joining Site Design in 2020, Ethan was a project engineer at another local engineering firm where he specialized in the design and development of national automotive dealerships, gas stations, and mixed-use developments throughout the Southeast.

    Ethan earned his Civil Engineering Degree from Clemson University.

  • Alison Brandt

    Alison Brandt, RLA, ASLA

    Senior Landscape Architect

    Alison Brandt is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the landscape architecture studio at Site Design, Inc. This includes project management of all landscape architecture projects, ensuring a project’s conformity with local zoning and landscaping standards. Alison strives to produce a final product that maximizes the beauty of a site within the client’s budget.

    Alison has over 27 years of experience in land planning and landscape architecture. She has worked on a variety of projects including recreational facilities, governmental office facilities, military bases, commercial developments, office/medical facilities, churches, single-family residential properties and apartment complexes.

    Although her primary focus has been on overall site and master planning, Alison also has experience with site investigative reports, zoning evaluation, permit requirements, conceptual site design, detailed landscape design, hardscape design and graphic renderings.

    Alison received her Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Louisiana State University in 1987 and is a Registered Landscape Architect in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia.
